Jun Zhu Sr. Research Analyst & Co-Portfolio Manager
Jun is a Senior Analyst at The Leuthold Group, LLC, and a Co-Portfolio Manager of the Leuthold Core Investment Fund.
Jun is responsible for the portfolio construction of the firm's Emerging Market equity investments, which is based on a quantitative methodology she developed to attempt to capture Alpha while reducing risk at the country level, sector level, and individual security level. Jun's contributions to The Leuthold Group's institutional research publication include investigating global investment opportunities that may be of timely interest, as well as reviewing and updating quantitative equity screening models. She offers strong analytical skills, industry experience, and an international background to the Leuthold team.
Prior to joining us in 2008, she worked as an investment intern at a local money management firm where she was responsible for analyzing companies in the Health Care sector. Jun received her MBA in 2008 from the Applied Security Analysis Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she co-managed a $60 million university endowment fund run by students at the program. She also earned an MS degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS degree from Sichuan University in China. Jun worked on several biotechnology research projects at leading institutes both in China and the United States. She is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Minnesota.
